Find Your Playful Spirit!

If I could inspire you in any way this new year, it would be to find that spirit that is you! I call it the playful spirit because when we are ourselves, our true essence, we feel youthful and energized. We are curious, open, inspired and enthused. Much like a child who just plays with things. They don't have judgment, just an ease looking for something to engage them in fun. Do you remember that playful way of being? Even just saying the word "spirit" has this wispy, light, joyful feeling to it.

It is a One year in numerology which means new beginnings. And not just any old new beginnings, a One year is the beginning of another 9 year cycle! We just ended one and thank goodness. Lots of learning, endings, clearing of outworn which is not considered fun. Now we are at the beginning. Delightful joy for we are fresh and clean for another round of 9. We are creators and we are now involved in universal energy that in ringing in true fresh starts!

In all the people I teach, share with, find about in my life, there is one thing that is missing. That is fun. Life is beating people down in all ways. I am not so sure we can shift those conditions that occur outside us. As we age, it just gets thicker has been my experience. We have more people we know, are involved in more peoples lives and age brings some health issues to everyone. To live within the existing conditions, knowing they will be what they are, we have to create an inward switch to support our way through.

If we don't add in ways to rejuvenate our spirit, we will surely miss out being our happy selves. The world isn't giving us free time. We must take it, balance ourselves and create a rhythm within what is occurring. The world won't give us time to relax, to do the things we love, to engage and learn how we want. It is a rat wheel! The only way we will find more fun, more goodness, more of ourselves and our simple, essential playful spirit is if we take it. Regardless of what occurs around us, we must steal that time to have fun and renewal.

I have stated Steven Coveys 3/4 work, 1/4 leisure as the optimal year many times. It is proven! To have enjoyment in all things, work, home, friends, family, yourself, you must take down time. Not only rest though. For we would all maybe sleep for a few weeks if we allowed ourself that luxury to catch up. But inspiration, enthusiasm, excitement, are the fueling feelings that sustain us.  If we want to be the one that we are, the spirit, we must do playful, intriguing things. These bring in new energy to life. Get us through the hard times and continually fuel us through the thick.

We have put this "play" on the back burner and thus we are all burnt out! Adrenal stressed! Health conditions setting in! It is because of our unbalance. All work and no play makes Jack a dull, sick boy. Yep! That is what is going on. We all know it. We are participating in it. We are hearing the solutions but not choosing the easy fix. Our guilt, our beliefs, our limitations are stopping us from doing what is right and would bring in more fullness to our life.

I hope you consider ways in this new cycle to find your playful spirit. It will make all the world easier. I know this because for 7 years, I have been working with these ideas, clearing out all that stops me, and going against the grain of the world and my training to create a more joyful life. I still have all the issues that others do. My world as hard and muddy as all others. Yet, my playful spirit continues to pull me into joy filled days.

I work it. I take time for it. I stop and rest, educate myself on easy ways to shift back to oxytocin, create a relaxed state throughout my day. It becomes a habit! I go over my "rules" of this world. I choose a good day over some experience in a month or few years. I bring it right in, here and now.

I inspire you to find ways to do this for yourself. It is the greatest health, well being, joy advice I have! It is not hard. It is not brilliant or for smart people. It is simple, easy and a choice away. I think often people don't find their truth, their playful being because it sounds silly or stupid. They say, I don't have time. Really? You have time to make yourself stressed, ill and unhappy?

If you want to develop a life of happy, you do happy things. A life of joy, you do things that bring in joy. If you don't know what they are, then you play with what inspires you and do that. You make down time for these wonders so they are in your life. It is not brain surgery. It's common sense that we seem to have forgotten.

So go for it! Play with life! Play with work! Play with your resources! Play with your health! Play with your friends! Play with your lover! Play with it all! Then your essence will show up in all things! Laughter the best medicine! Delicious fun!
