These are such important questions to health!! Your body state and your recognition of it are powerful tools in healing and health. Most are in the fight or flight as their primary body state and don't even know it! We have trained our bodies to be in this anxious panic and don't even realize it. Then we need a drink, a medication or a week vacation just to get to relaxation! Crazy way to live. It is not healthful on any level, emotional, mental or physical to be in fight or flight all day. We wear out our body and create ill health unconsciously.
So what can we do? How can this change? This is the art and magic I was so well trained in by all the Himalayan Masters and Spiritual study I have culminated. It takes awareness, body awareness, To stop and truly pay attention to how your body feels. Are you tight, your shoulders hunched, your face stress and scrunched up, tension in your being? This is stress or tension and it wastes alot of energy. When we rush about day in and day out, its is how we ride.
Of course, life is stressful so I am not saying you will not get in this state. I am asking you to considered to not be in this state all day. You can train yourself to relaxation as simply as you trained yourself into stress. Then your body which has an innate health system, glides calmly through the world as its default rather than stress. It takes awareness and training.
It is not truly hard with awareness. Our body wants to be more relaxed for it operates better that way. It can renew, refresh, rejuvenate and recharge when it is relaxed. Often we have health conditions because we don't allow our body down time which it needs. All bodies do in all creatures. So if we push the envelope, only ill health can come. We have not been trained rightly on the body basics so we have no idea truly what health is, how to achieve it or cultivate it. We will die eventually so that is not the goal. The goal is to have health, be able to move and play as we want, feel high emotions and states and be in joy or relaxation most of our life. It is attainable.
We go through cycles as well in what is going on around us. Some times we just are more stressed for we are in growth, uncertain circumstances or change. We just don't want to be in this crisis mode constantly. We want to know how to ride in life pleasingly for clarity and optimal health. If we continually are stressed, where is the relax and enjoyment?
I feel it is part of my path through teaching about these things for they are simple and don't take near as much time as going to the gym for hours. It is more about understanding what your body feel like in relaxation, in oxytocin, in the parasympathetic nervous system and then finding ways all through your day to reset yourself. After a bit, it becomes your habit to ride in that more creative state that feels good. Your body naturally uses it as default as you trained it.
Its is a lighter state of being. You can get there by breathing deeply. By going outside. By meditation or prayer. By playing, By being. By taking 5. By movement. By having fun with others. We each have our own ways. That part is easy. The first key is the body awareness.
So start to notice how your body feels. Emotions, mind and body are intertwined and connected. Notice how you feel and ask yourself, do I need to be stressed in this moment? Is it necessary for fight or flight to run me? If not, do something to get back to calm and centered. Keep doing this throughout your day. Turn off that adrenal stress. You are in charge of your body being and state. Work with it. It will only bring more health, joy and fun!
