A greater understanding of myself and my energy came through the study of Tantra. Clearly realizing the difference between masculine and feminine energy, noticing my body, distinguishing when I was in each. We have both energies, yin and yang so our practice becomes balancing them within, then without.
Masculine energy is the flavor of the world and economy.
Strategic, logical, efficient, direct, organizational, production oriented,
competitive. Considered a straight line, moving quickly from point a to b.
Feminine energy is opposite and complementary, considered a curvy line.
Flowing, collaborative, connecting, negotiating, communicative, meandering,
flexible and communal. Most of us ride in masculine energy the majority of the
day. Perfect for men, not so healthy for woman.
Woman have adapted to
the business world by developing their masculine side. Of course we must to
thrive in a male modeled world. However, being in this energy all day long has
taken its toll on the feminine chakras that very much thrive on the more
relaxed energy of oxytocin. Woman are most creative and relaxed in the
parasympathetic nervous system. Running in masculine energy, the sympathetic
nervous system is creating havoc to our health.
These feminine chakras of the womb, the breasts and heart,
and the throat where the thyroid resides are our current health issues that
require us to adapt a more flowing way in how we move in the world. If we do
not, we will continue to have these areas challenged because of the amount of
cortisol from the adrenaline rush of fight or flight.
How do we get back to our delicious feminine energy that our
body is calling for as a woman?
1.
Awareness. Initially, I realized I was rarely in
relaxed oxytocin and I adapted awareness to notice. Often speeding to get
somewhere or in a panic state when it was not necessary. Paying attention to how my body felt as I was
moving about.
2. I began shifting myself to a more relaxed state of
oxytocin when I noticed. This can easily be done through breathing. A long
inhale from the belly, an allowing of air to fill you, then an exhale, long and
delightful with sounds of pleasure. Bringing in your voice helps to signal the
hypothalamus that you are safe and OK, shifting you to the parasympathetic
nervous system. You could use Mmmm, Hmmm or Haaa to begin. Not a sigh but a
pleasure exhale. You will feel your body shift with practice and this is so important. I would do this 5 breaths often until I felt the difference. I have a video called Feminine Health in a Fun Way on my site sharing this. Train your body to seek that vibration. Here are other tips about the Yin of Oxytocin.
3. Ground into your body so you can be aware of
the intuitive, feeling sense you have and use it. Woman are emotional, flowing
and sense through their bodies so we must be in it, not in the mind. This art
is not of our thinking mind. It comes through the body, your 6th
sense. It is how we can tell who needs support and help without words. Just by
looking about we can feel where our community effort needs to be. It is subtle
so we develop a more relaxed way to move about and truly enjoy and be in our
beautiful bodies able to sense with all gifts opened and tuned. Your empathetic
nature used rightly.
4. Use creativity in all things. Look for ways to
inspire your creativity. This is very important to woman, the great creators of
life, flowing in artistry, beautifying the world about them. We naturally do
this but now we will with consciousness and relaxation, engaging in the
enjoyment of it. Beautiful spaces, delicious colorful food, lovely attire and
adornments, sensual delights all about nesting. We nourish the spaces we are
in. Enjoying the simple things we do every day with more joy knowing it brings
health and relaxation. Add your own touch to everything and revel in it.
5.
Slow Down. Woman are wanderer's since
communication and community require a different pace than efficiency. We enjoy
the cup of tea and chatter. Living from our hearts. inspired to care and
collaborate. We are empathetic. We feel the world more subtly through our
senses. We must be moving slower to notice these nuances that delight us.
Sensing the messages our environment is giving us.
These
quick shifts have transformed me to flow in feminine energy when I can. Adding
oxytocin, relaxation through awareness. The key word to feminine energy is
PLEASURE! The Svadisthanna chakra (below our navel and at the womb) is of creativity, pleasure, taste, flowing,
sensuality, relationship, family, artistry! Life turns magical and becomes more
fun. The simple, satisfying, delicious parts of life must be savored and felt. The
Art of Being a Woman. Engage this art in
living.
Healing and health will be yours.
