Adrenal Stress Issues for Woman

Today, Ann Quasman in her Conscious  Conversations posted the untimely death of Brenda Barnes, 63, CEO of Pepsi Cola as reported in the New York Times. The amount of stress for woman, in such powerful jobs or even stay at home mothers is a big health issue for woman. The womb, the heart and thyroid problems are part of this new lifestyle of being super woman.

There is not a woman who I run into that is not stressed, often being told they have adrenal issues, and not understanding what this is and how to deal to rebalance their system. I understand that we have much on our plate, but stories like these remind me of all the learning I garnered from the Woman Masters. Teaching me ways and explanations that supported me understanding my body to avoid this. If not avoid, be aware and know how to support my female body to get through our unhealthy cortisol producing way of moving.

We are not physically designed to run in the level of stress of men. We actually are to be more often in the parasympathetic nervous system for our hormones to be balanced and organs to process properly. This is why I highly promote and support the healing and expressive arts. They support this oxytocin state in our bodies. That means a slower pace, more restful times, relaxed as we move, calmer, less intensity and activity. Sounds challenging with life. Yet our body will give us more challenges as we continue to ride in this sympathetic nervous system and break down the very mechanics of our body.

The rise in heart attacks, the breast cancer issues, the womb issues and our thyroid not able to regulate our metabolism all stems from the adrenal stress. It adds dangerous fat to our middles. Even worse, when we go through menopause,  (our ovaries are the brain in our body with our hormones until then), our adrenals take over and if they are stressed, not functioning well, then all our systems are off. This creates our health crisis. The problems go from the womb to the heart to the throat.

I was taught to feel when I was in parasympathetic nervous system so I could sense it in my stance, my energy, my feeling of calm, my pace.  An easy breathe to get into this system and told to do it throughout the day so we could feel the shift.  We got a new perspective on how we saw ourselves so we moved in a more creative, artistic way than stressed way. I learned practices for my kidneys which are directly behind the ovaries, and retrained our body to move through our tasks with this oxytocin state versus the adrenal stress.

Beautifully, as we became aware through the day, and did something to switch us into parasympathetic, we created habits that the body naturally took over for it is healthiest that way as a woman. It was resetting our innate health system to operate properly and once it did, it wasn't about being so conscious. Pleasure, calm, playful, creative, artistic states make us feel good. If we feel good our body creates health. Men are different and like stress, competition, repetitive movement for it is supported by their muscular body.

I highly recommend all woman learn of this simple reset process. I know many practices can create this but it takes awareness on our part and just playing with it until you get the sense of your body moving in that system. We can still do all we must, but we do it in a pace or glide different than fight or flight, harry carry rush. It allows us to also be in touch with our body which is paramount. Moving in calm gives a greater clarity, wiser choices and greater reaction to stress issues. It is healthful and natural to our body to flow this way, when we get it and reset it.

Why? Because it is the innate health system that warns us, tells us its needs and runs us physically. Men are more grounded in their bodies than woman. They may not listen but have more awareness. We are so disconnected, so annoyed with our bodies, judging them, that we don't hear, see or feel the way to health it offers. Our intuitive nature is also in our body giving us messages. When we connect with our body positively, we run in the right pace, we hear its messages of health and so many other things about our environment that we are missing. It is the gift of the feminine nature.

It breaks my heart to hear stories like these and know so many in stress beyond. If they could really get the knowledge, understand it basically, believe it, work with it, experience it, they would avoid so many illnesses and deadly diseases. It is not put out there in a big way as yet but knowledge is coming forward. Our illnesses may be the same as men but are caused and treated differently due to the physical make up of our body. Just recently they are treating men and woman different in medicine when in ancient medicines there is a clearly different way to treat men and woman with the same conditions. Only makes sense.

My site has free information on all of this. It is all about really understanding the parasympathetic nervous system. It is where our body resets, rejuvenates, renews and refreshes. It is so important to woman's health. We can work with our bodies with a little consciousness and training. We can ride about the world in a much more healthful state. My book describes this state.

Warrior woman thinking or moving will not give you health. Yes, we have warrior energy and can use that. But 24/7? No way. It is not going to do anything good for you! Our bodies not designed physically to fight, move quickly and always. We are designed to nourish, collaborate, create life, gather others, connect, communicate, flex and flow. It is science, it makes sense. We have to get on board and work with our bodies. If not, we know what will happen because it is a huge issue in our gender and no drugs are going to make it better.

Burnout in the mind, burnout in the emotions, burnout in the body are tied together. Even athletes who train hard know to take a rest. They rest atleast one day and rest different parts of their bodies on opposing days. If they need rest, then we need to find a more restful way of moving. It is science and logic.

I invite and inspire you to learn what you can. I share alot of health classes regarding this, movement, stress clearing and energy flow. Find a path to this knowledge. It could indeed save your life.

P.S.Here is some information on  the adrenals .  They increase our heart rate! Not optimal for a feminine body.
