The Healing Art of Touch!

The power of touch is incredible. They say if a baby is not touched they will die. We actually get alot of healing touch when we are moms, our kids touch us so much although it gets overwhelming some ages, we are touched out. We are touch by our partners, intimately but there is an end result of connection. We are not often just touched for healing.

Now if you get a massage, reiki or other bodywork, you get the healing touch which is different than the other types of touch we get daily. Often we are not touched much in a healing way. Woman have often been touched in so many unhealing ways that it is hard for them to be totally open to intimacy and touch. We are missing something important about touch I believe, a deeper connection that happens when one touches you to honor and support your body toward health and wellness versus some other end.

I get lots of massages. I have tried many kinds and practitioners. It is a huge world of body work out there, and I investigate things to see what works. I get a monthly massage from a woman Cindy Lewis, who I have gone to for years and feel as though she has helped tremendously to love and appreciate my body. Getting frequent massages, lets your body consciousness know you honor it and deserve healing touch. The mechanics of it, medically and all offer it as a great healing tool. We all need to use it.

Healing touch is a tool to love yourself, honor yourself, get into relaxation.  I am also learning from  a male reiki master, John Straub who has a form of healing, sacred touch therapy. This I have found to be very powerful. It is not easy to be relaxed with a man especially if he is to touch you. We are used to that coming out in a sexual interlude. I am married so getting touched by another man is taboo and it takes the right male energy to make me feel safe.

Yet this sacred touch therapy that he offers is of a different level. I feel safe with him so I must promote his gifts. I am touched in a whole new way than I am used to as a woman or that I haven't felt by other man practitioners. Sacredly, with honor and healing, his healing reiki and the way he seems to read my body is beautiful. Not in a sexual way, in a healing way to have a  mans strong hands, the strength of male energy. It is a different form of healing than I experience with Cindy. Different of course because it is a man. To feel someone touch you in healing bodywork, as a man, with the kindness and sacredness is so healing on so many levels. My body is so nourished, I feel I am healing all woman when I get this healing art.

I think there is a healing different that a man practitioner can offer and never felt that before. Being touched sacredly but not sexually, Just has never happened before. The depth of the healing goes to many levels and cellular memories of other not so honorable touches I have had. It heals the wombs of being treated as less than sacred by a man. It has been an astounding experience to notice this on all these levels from a practice of self love. It is a visceral level of healing and I feel it very powerfully.

Woman need to heal themselves most importantly from this visceral level. Our mind won't help us. Our memories and recordings of life are in our body. Our body has emotions stuck  that mind practices won't clear out. We are feeling, sensory, emotional and have recorded all in our bodies. The movements that are occurring are for us to heal ourselves through the body connection level. This sacred touch has released some of my body memories and fears of being touched. Some of the emotions I have records of being touched and not be honored more than the other way around. I have found this touch very healing.

So I do engage woman, if they find a male practitioner in any field that offers us great healing, to put them forth and share them. There is a gift being missed when we don't use the power of men's hands to give us healing touch. The yin/yang of things.  It is a good balance to the tender love and nourishment of a woman. It is healing to the times that we all have lived through being a woman in this world, many a  tale of a man and what happened to them once. This can be cleared and healed by receiving healing touch, reconnecting you to your deeper sensuality. In a very sacred way this can break the memories, allow the visceral sense, being touched sacredly to override the unsacred. . Understanding my body more in a subtly way, not of sexual touch. Very rich adventure and I suggest you investigate this one!
