When is Sensuality Inappropriate?

Sensuality is about the senses. Really revelling in your senses, delicious smells, what sounds are about, what visually pleases, textures and how things feel, being stimulated on many levels. Often this definition is not what comes to mind when people say sensual. Sexual connotations come up. Sexual seduction comes to mind and that seems to have both  good and bad ideas attached.

Woman are naturally sensual! It is one of the great gifts we have to draw beauty about us that stimulates our senses. Our houses have textures, colors and art, our foods are colorful, smell good and stimulate our taste buds, our touch is gentle and warming, our voices are melodic and rhythmic, our giggling laughter fills a room,  out scent is just of a woman they say!! So when we use the word sensuality as bad or not so appropriate, your are limiting woman's wonder!

Sensuality and sexy do not mean the same thing, in our world it is often interchanged. There is nothing wrong with using your magnetism, your love of being stimulated on all levels, wanting to notice and enhance the subtle seduction of our senses. Woman are doing it all day on all levels! It is what makes the world such and exciting pretty, plush place to be. The whole world, advertising, our economy is build on seduction of the  senses. So why the double sword in how we use and look at it.

We have 6 senses, using 5 primarily. To live in the moment, to enjoy presence is to be fully embodied and noticing all the senses stimulated pleasurably is the goal here. Fortunately we have woman and this wonderful gift to command the things around into a sensual experience of cozy, bright, soft and sweet smelling. This gift of woman helps bring presence to the world to notice the nuances. To enjoy them.

 Woman must reclaim the gifts that make them uniquely feminine. The nurturers of humanity are so needed in this thinking world full of production, tasks, ambition and competition. It is not our way to be like this naturally. We have been so caught up in doing business the mans way. It is time to add our beautifully feminine touch to how work operates. By seeing our gifts not as frivolous but wise and important, we can fully embody ourselves and bring them to the world. Nurturing through our environments, our homes, our food, our melodic voices of care and kindness. This is what makes us woman. Approaching the business world in a whole new way.

 I am tired of learning all the systems and tasks we must learn and put into place to succeed. Using the systems is secondary to the equation. First we must embrace our ways, sink into our bodies, see our greatness and unique offerings to the world. Then the rest just falls in place. We like to do things for social change not money. Realizing that our environments. whom we help, whom we nurture, how we engage in a multidimensional way needs to be part of all our lives so we can thrive healthy, motivated and relaxed with our heart driving us. Our trainings need to be toward embodying ourselves rather than lists of tasks to do. Clearing up the labels and misuse of words that describe our wonder is a start. Really seeing how our beliefs and culture judge and restrain how we operate. That is the work to be done to free ourselves.

 Sensing others through our empathic ability, awakening our intuition, nourishing ourselves through environments and what we have around us, stimulating ourselves and others about with lovely inspiration and care. Taking the time to move at our natural pace so all our sensuality can be heard and provide us with the subtle information it offers us about our world and answers. This is not frivolous, a luxury or foolish as the world seems to make it. Only to be used when time allows. We can not know ourselves from the surface, it defies our way. We must deeply connect with ourselves to bring forth that essential nature and offer it to world. Without this, our true callings will not come forth. Our 6th sense will not be awakened unless we are in the body, using all the tools we have to understand the world.  Embrace this sensuality and see where it leads!

 I will leave you with a wonderful poem by Amy Sophia Marashinsky. I feel there is never a time where sensuality is inappropriate because it is part of making the world multidimensional rather than just about thinking!

Sensuality
Oh let me delight you with beauty
so the eye may dance with joy
let me seduce you with scents
so that your nose inhales pleasure
let me tantalize your taste
til your tongue quivers
let me caress you with sound
that makes your ears sing and sing
let me touch your body
with waterfall music
and adorn your beauty with
golden bracelets and honey and perfume
and when all is experienced
when all your senses have given play
when your spirit from the stars connects in a blissful way
with your body from the earth
then you will know sensuality

This is about Oshun, a Brazilian Macumba Goddess of the waters known for her love of beautiful things.
We all have Oshun in us as part of our gifts of being a woman. Embrace this seductive, tantalizing, stimulating nature!
