Oolala! Sensuality!
The pleasure of having a sacred body!
Delicious, luxuriating, exhilarating, ecstasy!
All words to describe the wonder of our sensual nature.
Being so busy in your mind, you have forgotten the wonder of the rest of you!
The mind can't feel these words.
Only the emotions and the sensual, tactile parts of ourselves.
I was taught the yoga of living. It is an experience, a practice, an activity. Be present important, actively engaged. Being aware of all the tools of this sacred body as we experience with awareness. So much joy and pleasure comes when we are sensual. It creates health to use all parts of our being as we live.
We have 5 measurable senses that feel and experience the world. Our sight, our hearing, our touch, our taste and our smell. Do you engage in these? Not on just on a functional level but on a reveling level? I am sure some great music inspires you or a magic sunset. Maybe the spring blooms or salt air and feeling the beaming sun. Imagine if you amped out the senses. Really used them in awareness for the pleasure they bring? Used this sensuality to shift a bad day or really find greater joy in what you must do.
Pleasure comes through the senses! There is no other way to feel pleasure. Our senses can inspire the positive emotions which means more joy and happiness. What if you actually used your senses for the pleasure they offer day in and day out. It taps you into your body presence so you are not caught in your head all the time. A natural love for it's sacredness ensues. We have such a magic vehicle of the body. When we are thinking we may not even experience our body. How often are you thinking as you drive and miss a turn. The mind can create a disconnect to the experiences happening if we are not present.
So much more positive things in life occur when you engage in your sensuality. Food has a new meaning when you slowly chew, taste it and feel the "Mmmmmm" of it. The sense of taste connected to our creative center. Pleasure so easily found in food. Most people don't even taste or revel in the incredible sensuality of food. They miss this oxytocin vibe and the relaxation nourishment offers. They barely chew it, taste it, let alone notice how filled they get. We all have eaten fast but we miss the pleasure of this daily activity.
Looking into peoples eyes to see their soul. Playing in nature as though it is a treasure hunt, seeing the world as the painting right in from of you. Watching peoples movements and behavior, reading their body language to tune into them fully, attentively. Viewing a sunset, for each moment offers a different sense of color and delight. Peacefully observing anything, even people watching in a crowded area inspires the body. We need a slower more observing pace to use our sensuality. That is why it heals for we create relaxation when we use sensual pleasure.
Smelling the fresh coffee, a rose, your lovers scent or aromatic candle. The olfactory sense, awakens the brain to make it sharper and more aware. They use smelling salts to awaken one who has fainted. Essential oils are incredible body healers and their scents stimulate different parts of our brain. Lavender soothes, peppermint awakens. How about spring when the cherry blossoms are blooming and the air is so sweet? Or basil in the garden? Sensuality is about reveling, savoring, diving into the senses and noticing how it inspires your body. Do you engage that way or just catch a scent, say "oh that's nice" and move on? Not really allowing it to play through your body.
How about the feel of your cozy pillow at night or the wonder of your fluffy down comforter. The tingle when one touches you in a tickle? A warm embrace of a lover? A child's hug or a dogs jumping greeting. These are the ways you live in the moment. Being in full awareness with your mind, body and emotions fully engaged in what is about. Bare feet on a sandy beach or the salty slick of the ocean water? A frosted nose and cold hands on a cold cold day? Or the crisp fresh air after a summer rain? These are magical experiences to be enjoyed and felt by our sacred body. Not just as an indication of our environment, but as ways to truly experience the world. Ways of play and relaxation.
It is a lost art with all this mind and thinking we do. Efficiency and speed don't allow for sensuality. It has a meandering pace to it. You can't be multitasking and doing sensuality. It takes awareness and noticing and focus. Engaging our feeling nature, our sensual being and the mind can be inspired to higher thinking of pleasurable thoughts. I believe people would be more happy, lighter and more fulfilled if they actually used their senses more.
I know it is a key to how I live. I have always been drawn into my senses. Woman are the masters of this. I revel and savor in mine and get lost in the delight. I use it to shift my mood, bring me out of my head or a problem and experience the joy of living. Nature is a full on sensual experience every time you walk out the door. If you want more joy, more pleasure, more relaxation and health, Engage in Your Sensuality! It creates calm relaxation when we revel in pleasure. It heals our body and we get to play with the joy of this sacred vehicle.
Woman especially are healed through this for it is their art. They have lost their connect and the juiciness of sensual pleasure. Remembering this femininity and playing in it daily would heal them on so many levels. I have seen many woman shift their whole life, beauty, presence and magnetism by tapping into sensual living. Men love this about woman for it allures them. Sensuality is just beauty reveled in.
Play with it. More joy, fun, lightness and PLEEAASURE will be about! Who doesn't need that?
