High Time to Set Intentions! A Simple Plan!

It is no mistake that resolutions are made at the turn of the year! The baby new year is very old and in ancient ways the ideas for the next cycle were put forth because it is high time to create for the spring. With the Winter Solstice shift, the light building again, using the power of this nature cycle rides the energies properly so things can manifest.

Often we don't realize that traditions were set forth based on nature. As we are made of nature and we are in her world, using her timing helps bring things about. So the tradition of setting forth intentions is very powerful at this time, using the light building as the power it is, allowing for creation of things. It is not some idea someone came up with, it is a powerful law of manifestation. The plants although they look dormant, are actually using the earths energy to harbor power within so they may bloom forth in spring.

So set forth some ideas that you would like to see occur. Review what occurred last year, see what did or didn't fly and consider what possibilities are within to bring forth. It is a powerful time! You are flowing so to speak with nature, it will support you in ways you may not understand yet, may as well consider yourself a plant working from within to produce without. It is best to look at your life in total, spiritual, community, relationships, business, personal, and health. There are many systems you can use.

I like to use the chakra system to set intentions because it seems the most powerful using our energy system. It helps connect us in our body, use these invisible energy centers as a guide, and it is easily categorized. Below I listed how to do that! I begin with the top down, for we are grounding the light so it makes more sense to start with the spirit than the lower root. We all have our way so it is important to use what makes sense to you. I offer mine as an option. I learned this through the empowerment school I educate in and it makes the most sense to me from all I have learned.

Sahaswara, top of the head: Spiritual mission or purpose begins here. How will you bring in your spirit? What are your inspirations and guiding principles that will lead you? Your purpose or gifts that you uniquely bring to the world? Lofty ideals that you will bring down through your system. Spiritual realizations, your destiny and personal development.

Ajna, between the eyebrows: This is your blueprint, the ideas that you want to manifest. Taking your purpose and making it more concrete. This is the chakra of focus and direction. What will you focus on that will be the leading directive? Big picture and long term goals.

Vishuddha, the throat: This is your creative, individual center. It is your voice, words, and intentions. How do you want to express your purpose individually as you? What gifts are unique to you that you are going to put forth in the world? What ways will you do that? How will you use your creativity and talents? More detail unfolds as you move down the energy system.

Anahata, the heart: This is your unconditional love center, your love of humanity, larger love and deep personal relationships. How do you want to effect the larger world, the community? What ways will you offer yourself to others in kindness, improve the space about, the people about you? Who will you intimately connect with?

Manipura, the solar plexus: This is your personal power center, how you will make business and provide for yourself. Here is how you will translate these ideas through financial channels or business goals. This is where you turn your vital energy into financial support for your life. How will you use your gifts to provide for yourself in the world? Social development, career goals, what will you gain, financial ideas.

Svadhisthana, the lower belly: This is where your intimate relationships are focused on. Your flexibility with them, your flowing collaboration. How will you bring your spirit in through your relationships? What kind do you want, with whom and how will you create them harmoniously? Family and co creating with others.

Muladhara, the base of your spine: This is your root chakra representing your body. Health and wellness ideas are put forth here. How will you actually manifest your physical being to manage all these ideas? How will you support yourself, stabilize these ideas in a strong physical presence? Physical manifestation.

There are many ways you could detail these, I just put a base forth and you can let your intuition lead from there. I like to start with high ideals and ground them. That way they are congruent with your greatest values and you can make certain you bring them into all areas. You do want your deepest, spirit to be represented in all areas so that is why I go downward and detail as I do.

You notice your body and health are last this way. Because in the end it is of less importance truly. Most consider these the only goals yet your spirit, heart and individuality matter much more. Yes, health is important but for good health you have to create with all of yourself, not just your body. When you begin with delighting your spirit, your body falls in line. Maybe often why resolutions don't work because they are not looked at from the highest perspective. As Lauren Nappen calls them, reSoulutions!

Have a fun time doing this as well! It is a plan to be a guide. No hard rules or beating yourself up. It can change and form as things unfold. Our rules are too critical and strict with ourselves! Use as a guide for your year and enjoy it! Life is an adventure and there are so many factors going on so be flexible to shift when necessary with ease and grace! Play with it! As Einstein said, Play is the highest form of research!!
