Such great tale comes around the moon. Considered the receptive, the feminine, the emotional, dark nature of the two poles, the negative polarity, she has been feared or considered to unstable. Yet the flowing cycle of water that holds the earth, harmoniously balances our earth, yes at times unstable but this wonderful blending and washing is done so well. I will share what I delight in my study of traditions that speak of the moon.
The moon is honored in Indian traditions as the form of Goddesses, really one Goddess sharing all her manifestations. I consider these traditions to bring forth our emotional nature and do it well. These Goddesses are our emotions, our dynamic change as woman, our understanding of our empathetic connectedness to the world. I have loved seeing the beautiful gals, learning of their ways knowing these are my way as a woman. Not many beautiful, delightful models about as in the Goddess models. Delicious!
So I love the learning of Mother Maya, she explains the Indian, ancient woman's ayervedic medicine. She reminds us of our powers as woman to heal ourselves and others. It is has been so wonderful to learn about the moon, woman, cycles, healing and the obvious reason why the moon has always called me at night. She draws us to gaze at the light as seen in our nights. Her reflection to hold the light of the sun when we see it not. Woman's Power To Heal offers such a wonderful understanding of the moon, the feminine nature and the healing we have as we embrace this changing nature of the receptive. The yin of the world. Understanding our emotional nature as a gift. Our empathic connection to others as a gift of flowingness that we just haven/t remembered.
The other great tradition that we all can use is something I learned from the Reiki tradition on full moon release ceremonies. Each month, at the full moon, we can use the waning of the moon towards new moon, as a releasing time working with our inner nature by using the cycles of outer nature. We are nature and made of it, so once a month we can put conscious intention to let go of things as the moon wanes and use the earth's cycles to help us move through life. Just a moment in noticing our fullness, we can that night or the next think of things we need to release from life. Situations, issues, problems, whatever that needs to move out of our field. We can sit under the moon, consider letting go and put forth our conscious intention to do so. And we can ride this cycle monthly, knowing each month there is a time of release happening in the earth around us and join in on its energy.
I love it! When we can just add in little ways to see the world as connected, ourselves part of it and know you are never alone. We are all connected in this brilliant experiences and we never have use only ourselves to grow and change. In fact we are all becoming together and we can be aware and honor it and it helps us grow! Delight!
One last thought! In Indian traditions and probably all ancient cultures since wisdom exists in all of them, woman gather on the nights after the full moon! They nourish each other, dance, giggle, do whatever they want to savor their femininity. This is ancient practice, enjoying their fullness, knowing there is a yin and yang, knowing their part and powering up together this lovely yin energy in themselves and their community. Nourishing feminine energy, lovely, relaxed play, a girls gather! Yes it all makes sense!
Enjoy the fullness! Watch it wane forward taking with it your stress! The cycles of life! Ride them!
