So luxuriate became a word and a feeling in my life.
I would luxuriate in all kinds of things. Nature, flowers, pillows and their fabrics, blankets, ways I put things on a tray, picking out my scarf to wear, what bag I was going to use, what essential oil I would wear, an inspiring image or art, small things. Just using the word makes me feel good. I would luxuriate in the big things too, limos to New York, Cliquot was about, ski adventures and it all developed this habit of bringing that feeling forth to whatever props were about. My friends are great at luxuriating as well, no matter what is about, we can make it a luxurious feeling.
This spring, Terree Yeagle and I were on adventure and my car overheated more than once. It became an issue, we were off road and tagged by the safety crew. We had to wait for a tow. So we grabbed a blanket, some snacks and wine in the car and set up a wonderful spot on I95 and luxuriated in each others company as though we were at a park. We had this lovely cove of trees embracing us and never would of known we were stranded, just had a enjoyable afternoon waiting for support, even though we abandoned mission to Annapolis. We were so involved in enjoyment that even we forgot we were stranded!
So I call us all to luxuriate in the daily things that we do about us. In doing so, maybe we can bring that feeling back into the world more heart consciously. By being aware of our blessings, noticing the goodness even when it seems not to prevalent, finding the luxury in the moment we are in because it is there. Then maybe we will bring back more of the bigger adventures for us all to luxuriate in. Swinging the cycle back around to the outside, because the luxury is truly in being alive and well. So lets luxuriate in every moment we can!
