Most important is breathing. We shallow breathe constantly in emergency, under stress and hurry. Sounds silly but it is the way our bodies release 80% of their toxins. 80%!!!!!! Look in science, look to Eastern traditions, look to a physical trainer, whatever system validates it for you, they all say the same thing! Deep breathing fills our system with oxygen and allows the cells the nourishment to let go of toxins. It also helps everything, digestion, heart rate, relaxation. In yoga they use many techniques, one is call bellows breath. It will actually give you energy if you are sleepy at your desk. The reason they want us to exercise for health and move is to blast more oxygen into our systems which helps it thrive. That simple! Breathe deeper or you could head to New York and go to an oxygen bar! Allow a breath, deeply exhale rhythmicallly a few times and you are clearing your system. Very important, very simple, no time at all!
In Ayervedic medicine, in saunas, in steam baths in spas another technique is used. Sweating in hot environments draws toxins out of your organs and puts them into the blood so they can released. Deepok, Andrew Weil, so many doctors claim the wonder of this detox. Sweating is your cleansing system, it is why you work out to a sweat so toxins release through the skin. After you sweat you go into very cold water in many sciences. That is to recirculate the fabulous clean blood back to your organs in refreshment. It does wonders for your skin, and so much internally that you can't even imagine. A great way to do this at home is when you are in the shower all cozy and hot, switch the water to ice cold and stand there for a few seconds. Once you have done it for as long as you can take it, switch back to hot. Do it a few times if you really want to be effective. Even just once will help your system and give you a surge of happy, new energy. The chill wakes you up but does so much more for your body!! Easy, effective, and can be done daily!
I have learned so much of healthful, living in practical effective ways! Rarely does anyone make leaping changes. The Lotus Project classes offer lots of simple wisdom just like that to help live a more vibrant life! So there you have two great ways to health, the question is will you try them??????
Blissfully,
Lyn
